In 2011 we conducted an energy audit of all City View Plaza spaces. We evaluated the energy profiles of all tenants, common areas, and parking areas and recommended energy conservation measures. In 2019, after the implementation of the recommendations, the building achieved the score required to certify the building as ENERGY STAR. This means that the building complex saves energy and helps protect the environment by generating fewer greenhouse gas emissions than typical buildings. To become ENERGY STAR certified, a building must meet the strict energy performance standards set by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. To be eligible for ENERGY STAR certification, City View Plaza demonstrated better performance than at least 75 percent of similar buildings throughout the United States and Puerto Rico. The facilities obtained re-certification for the year 2020 and currently operate at the prescribed levels in order to maintain it.
